Grid Ref E1
Tree Type Apple
Variety Belle de Boskoop
Rootstock MM106
Date Planted 15 March 2010

Tree Description A large fruit of the Blenheim type less good and sharper but crisp and juicy, forming a large wide tree like Blenheim, cropping more freely. Free from scab and canker. A large dual purpose apple, raised in Holland by K.J.W. Ottolander near Gouda in the Netherlands in 1856. An upright growing spur-bearing variety with attractive blossom, the fruit is covered with considerable russet. The creamy coloured flesh cooks to a golden yellow fluff, yet keeps it shape well when cooked. This is a perfect apple for salads being crisp, slightly sweet, and with a mild acid overtone. Being late to fruit and an excellent keeper, it makes a wonderful apple for Christmas.
Comments Suggested by RP. Lawrence D. Hills' high Vitamin C group, 16.40Mg. Vitamin C per 100 grams.
